Turn Off The Tap

This site was inspired by a group project I was involved in. The project was to come up with a solution to the impending water shortage that the United States is facing. The initial purpose of the site was to be an exercise in using Flash for building websites. Still, I am hoping that the people who come across it will take the time to read and digest the information presented. The site was designed to be easy on the eyes, visually engaging, and hopefully somewhat interesting.

This is my first Flash based site. It has an animated border and buttons. I took advantage of the water theme to create a cool effect of the water flowing. A layer mask was used to create buttons that have text the looks like water. Then using movie clips in the buttons, I was able to make it look as the water is flowing when the mouse is hovering over them. The border is also created using a water graphic and upon thr loading of the home page the water flows from the top of the border to the bottom.
